The road to contentment via a tiny house on wheels
*18 degrees.* My iPhone displayed the temperature low for the evening. I shuddered thinking of the night ahead and the gas we'd waste idling to have enough heat to get through it. I kissed my partner goodnight as he reclined his seat and I crawled into the bench seat of the 4x4 truck for another night's sleep. I'd sleep in the clothes I wore that December day along with my winter coat in hopes we wouldn't have to run the truck all night long. Our black lab leaped for the front passenger seat that just opened up, and our chocolate lab curled under a comforter with me in the back.
"How did it come to this? How did things go so horribly wrong?" I wondered in frustration, tears streaming down my face as I began to fall asleep to the hum of the diesel engine.
